The mind’s a buzzing
The heart is racing
But still you choose
The discipline
Of starting, creating.
This simple act
Done consistently —
definition of bravery.

I can’t believe I made
it to and through
Friday, almost.
Not all is done nor said
Not quite, not yet
But life’s not a check
List nor a measuring stick.
The pace is fast
The adventures don’t last
But the heart can still trust
There’s an after, another
Perhaps.
(c) Artherese, 2024
The every day ordinary
Is composed of hope, of life
Of surprising beauty
A life well lived
Is walks and love
And awe and joy
And embracing
The new, the uncertain
And everything
In between.
The view mirrors
What’s within
(c) Artherese, 2024
The excitement, the worry
The joys and anxieties
A potent concoction
Of life’s adventures
A change of place
A shift in pace
Is just what I need
Or so I convince myself
Then I remember
Whenever, wherever
I bring the baggage
And it’s up to oneself
To muster courage
To welcome pauses
And acknowledge
Perhaps even address
What my escape is for.
(c) Artherese, 2024
Rushing and trying
To prove something
You’re not but strive
To be is exhausting
Overthinking some
More, a redeeming
Factor, but perhaps,
You are.
Then breathing
Then living
Constantly asking
Is there more
Or if this is it
I find relief
In breaks and shifts.
(c) Artherese, 2024
Time dances to the melody
While you grapple with reality
But while you’re out of step
With the woes and worries kept
You still find your footing
Miraculously charter one’s floor
In the ever-changing.
(c) Artherese, 2024
I escaped a bit
and i love it
So i can breathe
then forgive
then forget
my recent
regrets
(c) Artherese, 2024
It is courage
To confide in another
soul, showing you’re
Not as strong or
Happy as you’d like or
Seem to.
Like a mother to run to
And whose presence brings
Comfort and pent up tears
Until you’re ready again
To face & conquer rains.
Until you remember again
To unpark your hopes & dreams.
Both joy and sorrow
Exist in anticipation
Imagination’s realm
Delight and overwhelm
And to do without
I simply cannot
So I’ll bear this cross
And each coin I’ll toss
And toast to possibility
And almost realities.
Oh how you treasure
the little adventures
after the long hours
at least making
the night yours
sparks lead to fires
reviving faint embers
the world's all wider
as you savor
